Reel Life: Rosemary's Baby

Since next week is Halloween we thought we'd celebrate by focusing our Reel Life series* on the classic horror film: Rosemary's Baby.

Rosemary's Baby was made in the late 60's and there's no hiding from that particular style in this movie. If you're a fan of the decade like we are, you'll certainly pull a great deal of inspiration from the movie.

The innocence of the main character Rosemary, who is played by Mia Farrow, is shown through her decidedly sweet and delicate wardrobe. Think floral frocks, peter pan collars, and delicate lace for our heroine. Yes she plays a pregnant woman throughout the majority of the movie, but it's still easy to pull from her undeniable style.

If you haven't seen the movie and want to be spooked--it's Halloween, after all!--then you're in for a treat. Be sure to invite friends over so when you're frightened, you can turn your attention to something a little less scary: the fashion!

We found some of our favorite modern-day looks that could easily be featured in the movie, take a look below!

Clockwise, L to R: Alter Ego Dress, necklace, Fierce and Fabulous dress, Sweetest Thing dress

*Our Reel Life series is where we take movies that have undeniable style and find looks that can be worn in real life, and maybe introduce you to a movie you've never seen before!

  • Great idea for a series. Do you take movie suggestions too? Breakfast at Tiffany’s comes to my mind :)
